Welcome to Dan’s Den, a spacious two bedroom home in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. Centrally located in Cumberland, the black bear capital of Kentucky. You’ll find many of the luxuries of a fine home here, but in a smaller home more suitable for a solo traveler, a couple, or small family. Enjoy two large living rooms, one of which is the newly added “log room”, cozied up in front of the fireplace for games, movies, or just to relax with a good book and a hot cup of coffee.

Cowan Creek Cottage

Cowan Creek Cottage is close to the Cowan Community Center and only 5½ miles outside the city limits of Whitesburg. The cottage is located at the foothills of Pine Mountain. You’ll love the cottage and enjoy the feel of having your own little home in the mountains. Enjoy a clean and comfortable home away from home while visiting friends and family and enjoying our community. Cowan Creek Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.

Attractions: Coal Mine Tour & Museum, Highest point in Ky, hike, fish, Kingdom Come State Park, playgrounds, overlooks, 2 executive golf courses, coffee shop foliage, wildlife, history & waterfall hiking. Guided horse and ATV rides can be arranged (must be scheduled ahead of time) through our ministry office.

Have fun with the whole family in my beautifully updated cottage nestled in the heart of the quaint mountain town of Big Stone Gap. Situated in an ideal location, and adjacent to The Trail of the Lonesome Pine outdoor drama. Within easy walking distance of great dining, coffee and ice cream shops, beautiful walking/hiking trails, the BSG visitor’s center, bike trails, parks, pickleball courts, fishing, kayaking, and more!
